Hello Oakland Strokes Parents- the Strokes were AWESOME in Long Beach
and now we have CJ's - the Southwest Regionals - to look forward to.
Have YOU booked your room?
A little story: during my first year as a Strokes parent, I thought
I'd just drive up on Saturday of CJ's and find a room nearby. There
seemed to be a ton of hotels in the area. HAH! I ended up driving
around with my mother for 3 hours that night and everything was booked
for miles around. We ended up having to stay in downtown Sacramento,
which was very expensive and almost half an hour away. Don't let this
happen to you!
IF you are willing and able to chaperone, ALL groups still need
chaperones. Let me know asap if you are available. The team will be
going up to Lake Natoma Thursday evening and starting out with a group
dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory (8pm). We need chaperones starting
then but will also be happy with people who can chaperone starting
Friday.
If you are not chaperoning but want to go, we have a block of rooms
reserved for OS parents at the nearby Larkspur Landing Hotel. Contact
Hannah ASAP!!! if you want a room, and say you are with Oakland
Strokes. It will NOT work to ask for a room a week or two before the
event; they will be gone. Her contact info is below.
