Hello parents,
Here are the details regarding the upcoming CJs races NEXT WEEKEND. =20
Please cooperate by paying your fees ASAP. It is very stressful and =20
time consuming on our volunteer parents who have to track down =20
payments a few days before a regatta. This is our last big hurrah at =20=
season's end. We hope that many of you will come out to cheer on our =20
team. A paper copy of this form will also be going home with your rower.

Southwest Junior Regionals ("CJs")

The entire Oakland Strokes Men=92s and Women=92s Novice and Varsity =
Teams =20
will be participating in the Southwest Junior Regional Races ("CJs") =20
at Lake Natoma, CA on Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th. The =20
teams will be traveling by bus to the races on Thursday, May 8th. ONLY =20=
ONE BUS will return on Sunday the 11th, as we expect most parents to =20
attend the race and take their children home. We are set for =20
chaperones except still need a few for MEN'S NOVICE: if you can help =20
support Strokes in this way, please contact Susan Ito =

RESERVATION AND PAYMENT DUE NOW=97 please cooperate by paying promptly.
COST: $325.00 (This covers bus, 3 nights at the hotel, race =20
registration fees, cost to trailer the boats to and from Sacramento, =20
coaches=92 expenses, and all meals.)
There are now TWO options for sending payment: by check, or online =20
using a credit card.
1. Send checks for $325, made payable to Oakland Strokes to:

handling fee for the convenience of using this option, so if you do, =20

TRANSPORTATION: Buses will depart the Jack London Aquatic Center =20
boathouse promptly at 5:30pm on Thursday, May 8th. Rowers should bring =20=
their gear and luggage to practice on Thursday! The team will arrive =20
at their hotels, check in and proceed directly to dinner at the =20
Spaghetti Factory. All rowing and boat moving will happen during the =20=
day Friday. We know there are AP conflicts on Friday, please let =20
your coaches know if your child is taking the US History AP or the AP =20=
Euro AP, these athletes will have to arrange rides to the race course =20=
after the exam.
Please note, men=92s and women=92s Varsity, JV, 3V are on Saturday, =
along =20
with the light 4+ event. On Sunday for the varsity it is the light 8+ =20=
and the varsity & JV 4+ events. For the Novices, the 4+=92s and frosh =20=
are on Saturday and the Novice A & B 8+=92s are on Sunday. Most rowers =20=
will return home on Sunday with their families, but there is one bus =20
that will be returning back to JLAC Sunday evening, leaving after all =20=
boats are loaded. Remember, the regatta isn=92t over until the boats =20=

set of rowing gear in case you get wet.

on Saturday and Sunday and lunch (sandwiches, fruit, bagels, snacks, =20
juices, etc.) on Saturday and Sunday at the Oakland Strokes =20
hospitality tent, as well as 3 team dinners. Rowers will have a team =20
dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory on Thursday night, and catered =20
dinners at the racecourse Friday and Saturday. All food prices are =20
