Dear Oakland Strokes Parents,
Hotel rooms near the Southwest Regionals races (May 9-11th) are
disappearing quickly. The rowers are already set in their hotels near
the racecourse, but there are no extra rooms available except for
chaperones. If you think you want to attend the Regionals, it is the
culminating event of the season and very exciting. Most families do
attend this race. We will have only one bus returning to Oakland on
Sunday afternoon; the majority of rowers will be driving home with
their parents.
I have reserved blocks of rooms at two nearby hotels for parents and
families of Strokes rowers, but they will not last long. I recommend
calling ASAP to reserve your room; once these are gone, families are
on their own for securing accommodations.
