Dear Strokes Families:

Thanks for the many of you that have donated and to
the many of you that helped with the Ergathon. It was
a great event and success! Thanks to Lynne Edminster and the other =
parent volunteers who organized the event! =20

But we still have a substantial way to go to meet the $100K, which gets =
us our $40K match to $140K! If we get to our goal, we will be able to =
buy two more wakeless launches (a major safety imperative), as well as =
upgrade other boats. Many of our children are rowing
in racing shells that are 15 years old; this impairs their
speed, safety and functionality. =20

Many of you have been generous, but still many have
not donated. Please recall that a $400 donation per family is
suggested from those that can afford it. If that is too much, we
strongly desire some contribution from all Strokes'
families. The incentives are great: donations of $1000
yield $100 worth of Strokes gear. Donations of
$1200 yield a 50%($400) discount on Strokes' spring
fees and a $2200 donation yields a full refund of
spring fees ($800.) Please consider a larger donation
if you can afford it. Donations of $5,000 to $10,000
are needed from some families each year to reach our goals.

Thanks to all of you who are still fund raising.
Please note that one of the pages that went out had an
incorrect website address on it. The website for
PayPal donation is our website www.oaklandstrokes.org
not .com. If you tried to access the website site with the wrong =
address, we apologize! Please spread the word.

We are also continuing to accept many cool donations
for our silent and live auction to occur at the parent=20
meeting. Please let me know if you are able to donate
wine, a cabin, luxury box, or any other item that might be interesting =
for the auction at the February 24 parent meeting. =20
