OS.Members -Atten Varsity Parents: SAN DIEGO CREW CLASSIC

Hello Varsity Parents --

The San Diego Crew Classic is coming up April 4-6th. This race is a  
bit tricky to plan for because only six boats are going (varsity, JV  
and lightweight boats), and the rowers on those boats have not been  
finalized. There is a possibility that a couple of "spare" rowers will  
be invited as well.  We still have to plan for airplane and hotel  
reservations and will have to put the final names in at the last  
minute. But I wanted to give you a heads-up to prepare in the event  
that your rower will be attending.

Fees: the cost for this trip will be roughly $450, including airfare,  
coaches' fees, boat trailer, entrance fees and race course food. A  
flyer with the exact cost will be sent out in a few weeks, when the  
rower list is finalized.

Transportation: The team is flying down to San Diego together on  
Southwest Airlines, departing Oakland at 9am on Friday the 4th (will  
need to be at airport much earlier). ALL ROWERS AND CHAPERONES need to  
be on this flight, as chaperones will be transporting the rowers via  
rented vans. If you think your rower will be going to San Diego and  
being on this flight presents a problem, PLEASE notify me asap.

Chaperones: We STILL need chaperones for the mens' team/lightweight  
boat. If your son is on this boat, we really need one person or couple  
to chaperone and drive them! Please contact me ASAP if you can do this.

Food coordinator: We could really use someone to coordinate food (race  
day/breakfasts, lunch and snack) down in San Diego. This will involve  
going to a local Costco and purchasing food, manning the tables, etc.   
Ideally someone can coordinate the food who is NOT also chaperoning.  
If you can do this, PLEASE contact me asap. We really need help in  
this area. If nobody steps up to do it, *I* will have to do it and my  
brain might very well explode.  Come on Varsity parents!

For many Varsity parents, this is your rower's final season with the  
Strokes.  Please lend our beloved team your much-needed support.
