The Saturday night of this year's Long Beach tournament is also the first
night of Passover. As you may know, Passover is an important Jewish holiday
during which the first and sometimes second night are celebrated with a
Seder, a special family dinner during which the story of the exodus from
Egypt is commemorated.

Some Oakland Strokes families have offered to coordinate meeting the dietary
needs of those rowers and families wishing to observe Passover during the
Long Beach Regatta, and would like to compile a list. If you or your family
are interested in Passover food and/or celebration in Long Beach, please
contact Betsy Sharf at 510-526-6444 or esharf@uclink.berkeley.edu, including
any preferences or ideas you'd like to share. We're hoping that at least one
parent attending the tournament will be able to help with food coordination
on site. If there's enough interest, Oakland Strokes would be happy to
support a short "mini-Seder" for interested rowers and families right there
at the hotel!

Please also contact Betsy if you would like to get your rower home in time
for your family's Sunday evening Seder. We're hoping that most if not all
races will be finished soon enough for interested rowers to catch an early
flight home, and we'd like to get a head count to line those tickets up in
advance.

Thanks!
