Dear Oakland Strokes Parents,
If you think you want to attend the Regionals, (CJs) at Lake Natoma
May 9-11th, it is the culminating event of the season and very
exciting. Most families do attend this race. We will have only one
bus returning to Oakland on Sunday afternoon; the majority of rowers
will be driving home with their parents.
I have reserved blocks of rooms at two nearby hotels for
nonchaperoning parents and families of Strokes rowers. If you think
you might want to go, I recommend calling ASAP to reserve your room;
once these are gone, families are on their own for securing
accommodations. They will be releasing the rooms to the public April
12th.
HOWEVER: I still do need quite a number of chaperones for CJs, so if
you would consider doing that, please let me know. Chaperones will
have rooms reserved at the team hotels near the racecourse. We are
PARTICULARLY anxious to secure chaperones for Thursday night (the team
will take the bus from the boathouse at 5:30pm Thursday May 8th).
Please let me know if you can begin chaperoning Thursday evening.
