Dear OS Parents and Friends:
Thought you might want to know about some of our publicity for the carwash
this Saturday. The email below is one example of community outreach---this
is directed at the Coast Guard. We are also asking for support from The
Tribune, Cost+Plus World Market, KTVU and other neighbors who see us rowing
daily in the estuary.

To all of our friends and supporters on Coast Guard Island:
The Oakland Strokes rowers, you see rowing in the estuary every day, have
recently had a big success in qualifying 4 boats for the US Rowing Junior
Nationals. Several of the rowers need financial support to get to the US
Nationals in Cincinnati so we're asking our neighbors to help us out by
buying tickets to a car wash the Strokes are having this Saturday in
Oakland.
If possible, please ask your fellow Guards on the Island to go here

wash. Any publicity we could get on Coast Guard Island for our
fundraiser/carwash would also be greatly appreciated.
The Strokes athletes work very hard and are a bright spot in Oakland youth

London Square.
