Registration for Oakland Strokes Fall season, Novice and Varsity teams, is
now open.
Everyone may immediately register for all programs, including the try-out
programs, at <http://www.regattacentral.com> www.regattacentral.com which
is a new registration service for us. Any usernames and passwords you may
have had from last year will not work on this new site, and thus everyone
will need to register as a new user. Varsity rowers should begin to get all
forms filled out and submitted as soon as is reasonably possible. All
Novice rowers should submit the Rules of Conduct and Emergency Contact and
Consent form immediately before the first practice, and the rest of the
forms once it is certain that each wishes to continue beyond the two week
try-out period.

families who know they will be unable to fulfill the mandatory 20 hours of
volunteer work for the team will find a link for a $400 Volunteer buyout on
the Oakland Strokes website.
The first Varsity practice will be held Saturday, August 29. Practice times

www.oaklandstrokes.org/TeamInfo.php?ics=b1 and may well be different this
year from last year depending on the team. The first Novice practice will
be held Wednesday, September 2. There will be an open house 10:00AM,
Saturday, August 29 at the Strokes boathouse at the JLAC for all those
interested in Crew and in Oakland Strokes. Attendance is highly recommend
to all who are interested in the program. There will also be a second open
house Saturday, September 12, 9:30-10:30 AM for all who are unable to make
the August 29 date.
Lastly: Mail in all forms whenever possible to the address provided in the
instructions. We would prefer that you not give the forms to the Coaches!
