1. Novice Regatta--Saturday February 28, Lake Merced =20
* Board the buses at 5:30 am sharp at the JLAC boathouse parking lot
* Return time 4-5pm=20
* Cost is $27.50 per rower=20

* This regatta is for novice rowers only =20
2. Awards Night: Thursday May 28 , 2009 at JLAC at 5:30 p.m Please =
note this new date. =20

3. 2008-2009 Yearbook: Arise all you high school year book =
aficionados--make 2008-2009 the best Strokes yearbook ever. Strokes =
parent and JLAC Women's Master Team rower Karen Soleau has agreed to =
AGAIN edit the yearbook. Karen did a fantastic job last year and we are =
lucky she is willing to do it again. If you see her, hug her. Please: =

* Take lots of pictures and send your BEST ones to Karen at =

* Edit your pictures!!! Please do not send every single picture you =
took to Karen and make her figure out if it's the same boat racing in =
the distance as the last picture. =20
* Label the date of the race and to the best of your ability, the =
identity of the boat (WN A boat, MV, Women's Lightweight, etc.) =20
* Need a volunteer to help Karen in =20
* compiling and reporting race results=20
* gathering senior pictures=20
* gathering coaches profiles and statements=20
* gathering ads and tributes=20

4. Positions for 2009-2010: Strokes needs some new people to step =
up for next year. If the camaraderie of other intelligent, committed, =
and personable adults and support for your kids is not enough to spur =
you to service, recall that we have a $300 per year surcharge for =
parents who do not volunteer for at least 20 hours per year. It's fun. =
Really. The program only functions at its best with the support of =
the parents. =20
Co-Presidents: The ultimate in delegation. Get other people to do =
stuff. It's that simple. Ok, sometimes it requires some doing actual =
stuff but it's mainly putting other folks in charge and watching them =
go.
=20
Co-Treasurer: Cherie Harper has already agreed to a job share on this =
one. Knowledge of book-keeping would be helpful but good paper and =
organizational skills with budgeting basics will do. Cherie is a =
professional book-keeper.=20
=20
Forms Registrar: The ideal person would be able to help us eliminate =
paper forms by moving as many forms as possible on-line.=20
* Experience with electronic signatures ideal.=20
* If total on-line registration not feasible, receive and organize paper =
forms such as physician's evaluation/clearance for rowing=20
5. Parent Network: Recruiting Mentoring: If you are a parent of =
current senior or a now launched former Strokes athlete and are willing =
to share recruiting experiences, tips and strategies, there are parents =
of sophomores and juniors who are interested in getting a better picture =
of this process and would like to talk to you. Please contact me or =
Evan and let us know if you are willing to provide recruiting info or =
are looking for recruiting info. =20
