1. Parent help needed on an important recruiting project. Board =
member and MV parent Jim Farrell needs help implementing our recruiting =
effort for next year. Jim and men's novice parent John Malmquist have =
put together a terrific and gorgeous color brochure advertising our =
summer program. Help is urgently and immediately needed to get the =
brochure out the door to the targeted audience and to put ads in local =
papers. Fulfill your parent volunteer hours in the comfort of your =
kitchen or living room! No day-glo vests or jarring 4:45 am alarm =
clocks required for this assignment! Contact Jim at =

2. San Diego Travel Costs. If your varsity rower or coxswains has =
been selected to race in San Diego, please pay hotel, airfare and local =
transportation costs through the Blue Sombrero website ASAP. =
www.bluesombrero.com/oaklandstrokes According to the Travel =
Committee, travel costs are unavoidably higher this year. The two =
chief reasons are (1) an additional hotel night on Thursday; and (2) the =
higher airfares in November, 2008 when we were required to do block =
ticketing for 70 people The coaches requested a Thursday evening =
departure to allow the rowers to settle on Friday and to guarantee time =
to practice on the course. In the past, athletes have departed Friday =
morning and the day has been a mad scramble. Leaving Thursday evening, =
the athletes do not miss any additional school but are better prepared =
and better rested. A travel flyer with details on hotel (The Bahia) =
and flights will be forthcoming. Please direct travel questions to Susan =

3. OaSiS #3 Regatta this Sunday March 29 at JLAC. Strokes. NorCal, =
Serra, Palo Alto, Los Gatos Novice, Marin Novice, BHS. Beth Anderson =
will circulate a race schedule when it is finalized.=20

4. Parent Row after the Regatta. There may still be a few seats =
available for the parent row on March 29 directly after the regatta. =
Suggested donation is $100/seat. For questions, or to reserve your =
