Hi Strokes Parents from Jim Farrell,

You can exhale now - but not completely. As we wind up another great season
of Strokes I want to remind and recommit everyone to the importance of
bringing our great program to the attention of new rowers for Strokes. Our
Strokes Summer Camps are the primary means of introducing new athletes to
rowing and the Strokes. Spread the word about our one week camps to any
people you know who may be interested!! (Ideally rising freshmen and
sophomores, but juniors are also great.)

This means YOU! Yes, YOU!! Please make it your goal to encourage at least
one kid that you know to come to our Strokes Summer Camps. A spiffy
brochure is attached which sings the praises of Strokes and rowing, and also
tells all the details about our Summer Camps. It does a great job of
communicating what we offer, so use it as your guide and friend. Print it
out! Give it out!! Or save paper and email it to lots of potential rower
parents!

Rowing changes kids' lives dramatically and for the better. It's happened
already to well over a thousand kids right here at the Strokes. You can
recommend this rowing program with confidence! It's one of the best in the
entire nation, and most college coaches know us very well.

If that's not enough to motivate you, think of how much fun it would be when
you're hanging around at races if some of your friends were there! Get them
to send their kids to the summer camp! It all starts there.

There will be hard copies of the brochure at the May 28th Awards Night
program, but don't wait for that. Get out there and spread the word now!
Camp dates are approaching fast (see brochure for dates). If anyone would
like a larger quantity of brochures, let me know and I'll figure out how to
get them to you.

Go Strokes!

Jim Farrell

Ps - True to form, there are already more women than men signed up for the
Summer Camps, so let's work extra hard on the number of boys we recruit to
the camps. And if they happen to be from parents that you look up to
(literally) all the better.
